Bringing back the BURI

A South African classic.

BURI takes the boerewors roll off the street and into a more considered, relaxed setting. It is chef-led, detail-obsessed and still easy to enjoy.

Born from Neil Swart and Anouchka Horn’s Belly Restaurant Group, the idea is simple: a proper boerie, done right, served fast and made with quality ingredients.

The BURI concept

Built in real life, framed with intention.

Watch the idea behind BURI: a proper boerie, done right, using quality ingredients.

Local, real and familiar

Not dressed up. Not overcomplicated. Just taken seriously.

The thought of BURI started outside a hardware store. The boerie was lekker because it was familiar, but it could be better. We did not fully trust the ingredients, and the sauces felt like they were watered down.

We believe you should be able to get a good quality boerie, made with good ingredients, anywhere in this country, any day of the week.
